History
"Colombard" was purchased in April 1999: believed to be the the third owners. The Family Pilot hull
and superstructure (No. 2522) was built by Hardy Marine in North Walsham in April 1991.
In March 2007, the present owners purchased a new Honda BF50LRTU four stroke engine
equipped with electric start, power tilt and trim, and is complete with tachometer, tilt gauge and
running hour meter (194 hrs). The engine has been serviced by a Honda agent at the end of each
season. An outboard trolley is included.
The 3/4 berth vessel is equipped with top of the range extras, navigation lights and spot light, cabin
cushions, stanchions and lines, floor carpeting throughout, gimballed two-burner stove and grill,
pumped cold water from a 25 gallon tank (replaced 2015), gas cabin heater (not fitted), Raske and
Van Der Meyde yacht sea toilet, and helm windscreen wiper.
A fully automatic Elm Trim Tab system is installed which automatically trims the vessel to counter
tidal, wind or passenger movements and makes the vessel a pleasure to handle (Trim tab servos
replaced 2011/2018). The navigation equipment includes a Navman Tracker 5500 Chartplotter,
Northstar Explorer M310 speed, depth and distance logs, Lowrance X-4 Fishfinder and depth finder,
Compact SX-25 VHF radio, linked to the ships aerial, with microphone enhancer, compass and
barometer.
The general equipment includes mirror, clock, fenders, mooring lines, anchor chain and rope, fire
extinguisher, fire blanket, life ring and line, auxiliary outboard bracket, Stern Safe universal outboard
lock, two 88 amp hour batteries, isolator switch and two Hella battery switches, two tables and legs
which double as seat/bed infill panels, cockpit cushions, three GRP fuel tanks: 2 @ 25 litres, 1 @ 30
litres. There are manual and electric bilge pumps. (For winter storage ashore, the vessel comes
with a Hardy GRP front cradle, if required.)
A 23ft Hayling Island galvanised, braked 4 wheel trailer (1999). New wheels and tyres fitted Jan
2014, and an extensive overhaul was carried out in Oct 2017 with replacement wheel bearings,
brake shoes, brake cables and trailer coupling.
Colombard is presently stored on its trailer in South Devon.
The current owners have had a great deal of fun and pleasure from river and open sea passages in
"Colombard" and are members of the Hardy Owners Club. "Colombard" is insured under a special
scheme for Hardy owners issued through Towergate Insurance.
A full survey was carried out in Dec 2010, and valid for insurance purposes until 2031.
